SESSION RATIONALE
The periocular region is one of the most complex and delicate areas of the face.
A multilevel approach, which considers the detailed anatomy and aging dynamics of each layer, is essential to achieve optimal and natural results in the aesthetic and functional treatment of this area.
The session is structured to provide an in-depth overview of advanced treatment techniques, with a particular focus on innovative approaches that improve tear trough management.

UPDATES AND NEWS
Recent developments in the field of botulinum toxin include
significant improvements in injection techniques and new
therapeutic applications. Injection techniques have evolved
with the adoption of advanced methods, such as the use of ultrasound
to improve the accuracy and effectiveness of injections,
especially in the muscles of the lower third of the face. In addition,
new indications for the use of botulinum toxin have emerged,
with innovative approaches in neuromodulation that broaden its
therapeutic and aesthetic applications.
Botulinum toxin formulations have been introduced with
specific characteristics, such as shorter action times or
ready-to-use formulations, which offer significant advantages
in clinical practice and aesthetic applications. These new
formulations can optimize results and facilitate use
botulinum toxin daily.
Furthermore, in-depth studies on the stability have been carried out
and the long-term effectiveness of some botulinum toxins,
providing a solid foundation for long-term use and management of
complications. The new discoveries concern, in addition to the muscles of the
lower third of the face and neck muscles as well
masseters, the treatment of which has both aesthetic and medical implications
functional. Correction of upper third asymmetries
of the face with botulinum toxin represents a further
chapter of attention in the context of advances in
aesthetic practice.
TAKE HOME MESSAGE
Key messages will include the importance of precision in injection techniques, awareness of new formulations and indications, and the need for adequate ongoing education to best manage the clinical and aesthetic applications of
botulinum toxin.
