Threads or injectable solutions? At the Agorà Congress 2026 a session coordinated by Michela Zazzaron compares the two souls of biopolymers in aesthetic medicine.

The session explores the evolving role of biopolymers in aesthetic medicine, comparing thread-based and injectable formulations of PLLA, PCL, and PDO. Current evidence on material properties, rheology, clinical indications, patient selection, expected outcomes, and safety profiles is reviewed, together with ultrasound assessment and the prevention and management of complications.
